Never Get Lost with NeverLost?

What’s in a name? In the case of the GPS (global positioning system) NeverLost, developed by Navigation Solutions,, it’s the hope that a driver will never actually need it, but if they do, it will come through and the driver won’t be ForeverLost. Navigation Solutions, which by the way is a division of Hertz, the car and truck rental giant, recently announced that it will outsource the manufacture of the NeverLost 6 platform to Magellan,, one of the top GPS companies.

The new platform will have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, a 5.7-in screen, and a number of off-board components such as keypad, a camera module, accelerometers, and gyros sensor board that will connect through a flex cable. In addition, Navigation Solutions has selected Magellan's SmartGPS Eco for integration in Hertz vehicles in 2014. The Magellan SmartGPS Eco is the latest advancement in Magellan's cloud-based connected-car services that delivers content, saves drivers time and money, provides safer navigation, and keep drivers informed on location and social content.

The Magellan SmartGPS Eco is a cloud-based platform that leverages the cloud for location intelligence, and personalization. Drivers can choose the content they want, and it is all displayed simultaneously.
